Our
Story
Welcome! | Bienvenido
Welcome to the Saint Francis Xavier Catholic school website. Founded in 1957, our infant through 8th-grade campus serves children from as far west as Magna to neighborhoods on the east bench, and cities as far up as North Salt Lake to beyond West Jordan in the south. I invite you to explore our website.
Our namesake, St. Francis Xavier, is known for his enthusiasm, joyfulness, passion for learning and action, and love for all people. These are exactly the gifts found in the excellent faculty, staff, and parents at SFX. The school motto, “Love of God, love of others, love of self,” Christ’s call to love, is vibrant and living here. SFX is a special place!
We provide one class for grades preschool through eighth. This is the advantage of being a small school, our teachers know every student individually. Such attention to the spiritual, academic, and social well being of each child creates an environment where children discover their inherent gifts and gain confidence in themselves. Parents and teachers together foster the loving yet challenging environment for our children to grow in faith, knowledge, wisdom, and compassion. This is the SFX difference - we are a close-knit community of faculty, alumni and families dedicated to nurturing our students, fostering strong home and school relationships and academic excellence, rooted in God’s love for all. We believe that the spiritual, academic, and social aspects of every child form the foundation for their lifetime.
MISSION STATEMENT
Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School is dedicated to educating and supporting our diverse community through the Christian teachings of love of God, love of others, and love of self.
SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
"A community rooted in faith, family, and church. Serving students preschool through eighth grade"
At Saint Francis Xavier we believe that love is the central Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We define love as any activity that makes us grow. We view love in three different dimensions: Love of God, Love of Others, Love of Self.
Love of God refers to an awareness of God working in our lives as Father and Creator.
Love of Others relates to the example of Jesus Christ in the commitment we make to others.
Love of Self is cultivated in a sense of security, identity, belonging, purpose and confidence in the Holy Spirit working in our lives.
