The purpose of the School Board is to serve as a consultative body that assists and guides the administration in fulfilling the school's mission. Members have a commitment to Catholic education, a willingness to support the school philosophy and mission, a sense of future vision for the school, an intent to contribute personal talents and expertise, and professional skills deemed necessary to fulfill the duties of a commission member.

Members at Large:

Steve Bergstrom, School Board Chairperson, Executive Committee
Committee He is serving his first term as Chairperson. He has been a member of the parish since 1995 where he is involved in the music liturgy,Parish Council and Finance Committee. He is the Director, Office of Sustainability, for Intermountain Healthcare. Steve and his wife Jacquie have a grandson enrolled at the school. "I believe that the Catholic School experience gives a strong foundation for faith, a high quality education, and instills self-confidence and respect of others. The relationship of having the school and parish together, makes for a stronger, more complete and sustainable parish".

Macheala Jacquez
Ms. Jacquez has been a member of the Saint Francis Xavier parish since the day she was born. A member of the Council of Catholic Women, Ms. Jacquez has also taught CCD to 2nd graders for six years, she is serving her first term on the SFX School Board. . She is a pharmacy supervisor and clinical pharmacist for the University of Utah Redwood Health Center and the Clinical Coordinator for a post graduate pharmacy residency (PGY-1 Ambulatory Care Residency) at University of Utah Health and adjunct faculty with the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. When asked what her interest in SFX School is: “ My interest in Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School is to help spread the word of the benefits and importance of a catholic education. I am passionate about both faith and education and want to help foster both within the youth. An education through a catholic school like Saint Francis Xavier helps mesh both to provide students with a great education and help develop their catholic identity.”

Jennifer Magner
Jennifer was baptized at St Francis Xavier and attended Pre-school then Kindergarten at SFX. Continuing her Catholic education at Our Lady of Lourdes, then graduating from Judge Memorial. Then on to USU to earn her Bachelor's Degree. Currently working at Delta Air Lines in customer service. John and Jennifer have a daughter in the Seventh grade and a son in Fifth grade. Currently serving her third year on the board and takes great pride in being a part of this wonderful school. Having had the privilege of attending Catholic Schools, she understands and desires the same excellent education afforded to her kids and others.

Hugo Moreno
A member of St. Francis Xavier Church for many years, Hugo Moreno is a Knight of Columbus and is often found helping out in many different capacities on campus. There is no stronger supporter of SFXCS than Mr Moreno. As owner of La Nueva Campos Market, Mr. Moreno has offered his talent in the culinary arts by teaching several exploratory courses to the middle school students. He and his wife Paula have a 5th grader and a 7th grader at St. Francis Xavier, as well as a graduate now attending Juan Diego Catholic High School. This is his third term.

Member of the Westminster College Education Faculty since 2001, Mr. Carr brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in Catholic education.

Erika Manternach
As lead writer at Ancestry ProGenealogists, Erika Manternach is the writer for family stories and legacy books for people who seek professional research. Erika spent the first 10 years of her career as a TV news anchor, reporter, and producer, and also taught journalism for six years at JDCHS.

Vicky Simpson, Faculty Representative
As member of the Middle School faculty, Ms. Simpson’s philosophy of teaching is rooted in the idea that all students are created in the image and likeness of God, born with unique gifts and talents. She believes that each student has the potential to grow in their knowledge of God and the world around them. Ms. Simpson holds degrees in Biology and Physical Therapy from University of Utah, a Master of Secondary Education from Utah State University in math and science. She has been a member of the Saint Francis Xavier community since 1993, first as a parent then in 1999 as a teacher. She and her husband have two daughters, both graduates of St. Francis Xavier and Judge Memorial, and now blessed with two grandchildren. This is her third term serving on the School Board.

Lisa Rose, Advancement and Development Director at SFX
Lisa Rose is a Cradle Catholic and attended St. Francis Xavier School, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and Judge Memorial Catholic School. Ms. Rose understands the sacrifices parents must make for it. Both of her children attended St. Francis Xavier School, and Judge Memorial Catholic School. As Director of Advancement and Development, she works hard to find resources that support our families. This is her 3 year on the School Board. When asked why she is interested in working for the school, her reply, “I believe in the mission of SFX, and I want to do my part in helping others understand that mission.” Ms. Rose has been Advancement and Development Director since 2010 years.

Marianne Rozsahegyi, Principal, Executive Committee
Joining the administration in 2016, Ms. Rozsahegyi is a firm believer in Catholic education as an opportunity to form the whole child, especially allowing children to speak of their faith, discover their gifts, and use them compassionately for bettering our world. Our children are our future. The next generation of problem solvers and peacemakers might well come from SFX. A graduate of Rutgers University (B.A.) and Boston College (M.Ed) with a Certificate of Catholic School Leadership from Creighton University. She and her husband have raised five children, two graduates of Juan Diego Catholic High School, one graduate of Judge Memorial High School, two graduates of Jordan High School. They have one grandson.

Fr. Eugenio Yarce, Pastor, Executive Committee
Fr. Yarce became pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church in 2013. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the school and strives to ensure its sustainability. Fr. Yarce regularly celebrates Mass with the entire student body monthly as well as with individual classes. He guides students during the Advent and Lenten reconciliation services along with brother priests from our local parishes. Always encouraging families to send their children to Catholic school, Fr. Yarce is a promoter of Catholic education.
