Mr. Roy has been teaching music to our St. Francis community since the 2011-2012 school year. He has also been an Accompanist/Cantor/Choir Director for the St. Francis Parish since 1997. If you've attended the English Masses on the weekend, you've probably seen him at the piano, and joined him in singing the praises of the Lord.

"You don't have to be exceptionally gifted in musical ability to benefit from musical instruction," he explains. "Like all of the performing arts, music inspires creativity, enhances our understanding of our world and its cultures, and even strengthens our cognitive ablilties in other academic disciplines. In my class, everyone participates, and students are encouraged to take pride in the God-given gifts they have. Whether those gifts are musical, academic, athletic, or anything else, we must be ready to share those gifts with others."

Mr. Roy holds an Associate of Science Degree from Salt Lake Community College. He also attended the University of Utah where he studied classical piano performance and jazz composition from some of the most talented and respected professors in the region. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Western Governors University.
