Originally from Sequim, a small town located on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, I moved to Salt Lake City in 2015 to become the third grade teacher at St. Francis Xavier. Before joining the SFX community, I attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington where I received my BA in English and minored in Spanish and Psychology; I also spent part of my junior year studying literature at the University of Oxford. While at Gonzaga, I spent four years participating in and leading an after-school mentoring program at Title I elementary schools. I fell totally and completely in love with the program, which then inspired me to pursue a career in teaching. I have also spent time as an aide in third and fourth grade classrooms. I love working with this age group! I am currently working to receive my Masters in Teaching at the University of Portland through the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education. I feel so blessed that, through this program, I am able to join the wonderful community here at SFX!
Outside of teaching, I love reading, cooking, and watching cute dog videos on YouTube. I also look forward to exploring all the natural beauty Utah has to offer!
