Open House
January 29, 2017

Greetings Parents, Family and Friends of Saint Francis Xavier School,

Open House is this Sunday! If you have friends, family or neighbors who are might be interested in having their children attend, please pass on the invitation to visit our school this Sunday, 9Am-12:30pm. You can be very instrumental in spreading the word out about our school community, our school’s mission, the Gospel of Love that Christ offers, and a holistic approach to education. Let neighbors and family know that Open House is Sunday 9AM-12:30pm. Students, School Commision members, faculty, and staff will be on hand to answer questions and give tours of the school.

Today’s White Envelop is packed with important auction details that each one of us needs to know. Please set aside some time to examine the information carefully and return all papers that require your signature. I encourage everyone to participate in promoting the Opportunity Drawing, which is vital to our financial resources that sustain our school. As you know, the “From the Heart” Auction is our only fundraiser, and the benefit to our students is extraordinary. I am grateful for all of you who are rolling up your sleeves and pitching in to make this Auction and especially the Opportunity Drawing a success.

Faithfully yours,

Principal Rozsahegyi

White Envelopes

Each time your white envelope comes home you will need to empty it, sign it and return it to the classroom teacher.

Your white envelope will come home with information that will need to be returned. Please return your signed white envelope the next day.

Being on time to school is an important value and life skill to insure that work is not missed. In addition, entering the classroom after school has begun is disruptive to the entire class and interferes with the teacher's lessons.

We urge you to make sure your child is on time for the beginning of class each day.

If your child is required to take any medication, (this includes cough syrup, Tylenol, allergy medicine) it is necessary that a parental consent form and physician consent form be completed before any medication may be administered. These forms must be updated each year and are available in the school office.

NO MEDICATION will be administered without written consent on the appropriate forms (this includes inhalers).

For everyone’s safety no child is permitted to keep medication with them, an exception is made for inhalers if necessary for students above third grade. All medications are kept locked up in the school office.

Utah Air Quality
2017 - 2018

Dear Parents,

Many parents have inquired about RED Air Quality days and our position on sending students outside for recess. We follow the recess guidelines established by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). On the DEQ website,, we are able to monitor the current conditions for Salt Lake County. DEQ recommends indoor physical activity for ALL STUDENTS when particulate matter (PM2.5) reaches 90ug/m3. We will accommodate students with respiratory symptoms (coughing, shortness of breath, or chest tightness) when particulate matter reaches 55.5 ug/m3. Students who have asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung symptoms, or other respiratory problems may be held in when particulate matter reaches 35.5 ug/m3.

If you wish your child to be held indoors during red air quality days because of sensitivity, please contact your classroom teacher. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at the school.
