"Originally from Strawberry, a small town in California located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I will be moving to Salt Lake City in August of 2019 to begin teaching at St. Francis Xavier. I recently graduated from the University of Portland in Oregon with a degree in Social Work, minoring in Theology and Social Justice. While at UP, I was blessed to participate in an after-school program for local children that made me fall in with teaching and inspired me to pursue this profession. Additionally, my social work education allowed me to spend time with children and families in a variety of situations, which now helps me to appreciate the unique perspective each child brings to the classroom. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Teaching at the University of Portland through the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education (PACE), and I am excited to continue learning and growing alongside my students.
Outside of the classroom, I love to ski, hike, read and cook. I am excited to explore all of the natural beauty that Utah has to offer, as well as have the opportunity to become a part of the St. Francis Xavier community."
